About Us

We are a local painting company named after the Thornapple River. The river closely follows the heart of service area in the Ada, Cascade and Knapp area. We also service Byron Center, Caledonia, East Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Rockford, Hudsonville and Wyoming. We are not a franchise and the Grand Rapids location is our only location.

Our primary service is residential exterior painting & staining. We paint all siding types including wood, aluminum, HardiePlank, brick, stucco and vinyl.

We pride ourselves on quality. We see many houses that have been painted by other contractors and are often shocked at how sloppy the work was. We take the proper steps to ensure our work is clean and will last a long time.

We can color match your existing paint or change the color. If you are changing your color we can connect you with a free color consultation.

House Painting & Washing Services

Trim Painting: Many of the homes built in the last 20 years in the Greater Grand Rapids
Area feature wood trim with vinyl siding. We recommend keeping up on your trim painting, if
bare wood is exposed, it has gone too long without painting. With our harsh winters and humid
summers in Michigan, any exterior exposed wood will rot in a hurry. Wood needs a protective
coating of paint to prevent damage from occurring.

Trim boards on pillars are especially prone to rot as snow often rests on them during the winter. If your pillar trim is rotted we recommend replacing with PVC. It is a little more expensive than wood but it will never rot, looks just like
wood and can be painted to match your existing trim.

Whole House Painting: Many homes in the Ada, Cascade & Forest Hills area feature
cedar siding. Solid stain is often used on cedar sided homes however they can also be painted
depending on your preferences. Solid Stain and Paint look almost identical. Solid Stain is less
prone to tanin bleeding than paint is.

House Washing: Soft washing is relatively new and is the new best practice for washing
vinyl homes. Soft washing is a chemical wash that utilizes a low PSI application which does not
prematurely age your siding like power washing can. Our chemicals are plant and pet safe.
